Ms. Patisteas budgets her time carefully, working three days a week and volunteering at her children’s schools the other two.On weekends, the rest of the family joins her to volunteer at fundraisers and the Nemasket Group, which helps secure employment for the developmentally disabled.Her commitment to family and the sense of service she has instilled in her children is why Ms. Patisteas was selected as The Standard-Times Rochester Woman of the Year.Nominations for the award came from the community and members of the newspaper staff. Recipients were selected by newsroom committees.
